Maiko Kangro graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tartu and completed her residency in psychiatry. She has also completed basic training in psychoanalytic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and family therapy.

Her main interests are mood disorders (including bipolar disorder), addictive disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. She has primarily worked with mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders and addictive disorders (including alcohol use disorder) as well as with organic disorders, psychosis spectrum disorders, eating disorders and sleep disorders.

She is a member of the Estonian Psychiatric Association and the Estonian Junior Doctors’ Association. Dr Kangro also offers psychiatric services to adolescents and adults in Estonian and English.
