Triinu’s decision to have bariatric surgery stemmed from the discomfort that negatively affected both her work and personal life. The reason was her high weight, which she managed to lose with various diets, but the weight quickly returned every time. Today, Triinu has lost 33 kilos and happily wears a size S.
What bothered you most about your appearance and how you felt?
After three pregnancies, I no longer liked the sight I saw in the mirror in the morning. My stomach started to build up and it was very difficult to hide it in my pants. I wanted to feel like I did before having children and regain love for myself.
Since I have a physical job, I did not have as much energy and could not do as much as I wanted. I got tired very quickly.
Why did you decide to go on this journey?
My weight was increasing every day and I saw that I could not stop it anymore. After trying different options and possibilities, I started looking online and found Health Clinic.
What did you try before the surgeries?
I have followed many diets and worked out, both on my own and with trainers. Finally, I did a genetic test and it turned out that it was genetic. It is a kind of yo-yo effect where I can lose weight but I can gain it back very quickly. I decided to have the surgery so that something would put an end to it.
How much did you weigh before the surgery?
The morning of the surgery I weighed 86 kg and now I weigh 53 kg.

Triinu before and after the surgeries. After bariatric surgery, other areas of the body often require correction to achieve the ideal result. Triinu also underwent breast augmentation, tummy tuck and liposuction of the sides.
What surgeries did you undergo?
I started with bariatric surgery (sleeve). At first, I planned to have one surgery, but in the end, it turned into three. After losing a lot of weight, my breasts also disappeared and my body was out of proportion. Due to the weight loss, I had excess skin on my abdomen, which could not be corrected with exercise, so I decided to have breast augmentation, tummy tuck and liposuction of the sides.
Was the recovery difficult? Which of the surgeries was the most difficult in terms of recovery?
To sum up, the recovery after all the surgeries was actually relatively easy. By today, I have forgotten all about it. The shortest recovery was for the gastric sleeve surgery because the wounds were very small. The surgeon said the quicker I got back on my feet, the quicker I would recover. That was my goal!
On the second day I went home from the hospital, ate well and moved as much as possible. The most difficult thing at first was to accept the bruises that appeared during the liposuction, but they were also temporary.
How well have the scars healed?
The scars have healed very nicely, very cleanly. There has been no inflammation. Everything has just gone so happily.
What would you recommend to those considering weight loss surgery?
It is certainly not a decision to be made lightly. First, it is worth trying other options, and if this decision has been on your mind for several years, then it is worth doing it.
Do you regret not doing it sooner?
Today I am very happy in my body. I think there is a time for everything and for me, everything has fallen into place at the right time.
