After losing 49 kilos, Kelly, who underwent sleeve surgery, has become significantly more confident and understands both her physical and mental health better. Having previously made efforts to lose weight for a long time, Kelly was tired of this fruitless cycle and decided to take a more serious step and go for surgery. Kelly has lost a whopping 49 kilos since her sleeve surgery. Her confidence and self-esteem have increased. She is working on maintaining her mental and physical health. Before deciding to have surgery, I followed several diets and nutrition plans, used apps and read literature. In theory, I knew very well how to lose weight and what changes needed to be made to do so. In practice, it turned out to be much more challenging and every lost kilogram came back twice over. Eventually, I was so tired of this vicious cycle that I decided to have surgery.<\/p>

I decided to have the sleeve<\/a> surgery because it seemed the most natural for me and there was less chance of vitamin deficiency. This surgery was also recommended to me by Dr Rein Adamson<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

How was the recovery period after surgery and what were the biggest challenges?<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Before the surgery, I felt what most patients going into surgery probably feel \u2013 fear of the unexpected and fear of failure. At the same time, I also felt anticipation and excitement. It was, after all, the first step towards a completely different life!<\/p>

The physical recovery was surprisingly easy. What made the beginning difficult was the constant thirst and eating the required amount of protein.<\/p>

I have to admit that, unexpectedly, the biggest challenge was adapting mentally to the changed situation, changing my behaviour and attitude. Also, understanding how central a role food really played in my life and how long it takes to truly change my lifestyle.<\/p>

Today, there is nothing in my eating habits that has not<\/strong> changed in the past seven to eight months. Ironically, I now enjoy food more than before<\/strong> because I carefully select what I eat. I want every bite to be an experience. Previously, I prioritised quantity over quality, but now I focus on the quality of food and the experience. Surprisingly, my taste has changed a lot. I enjoy different flavours that I was not willing to try before.<\/p>

After losing weight, my high heart rate, knee, hip and lower back pain, shortness of breath and excessive sweating disappeared.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Losing 49 kilograms has absolutely affected my confidence and my self-esteem and made me more aware of my physical and mental health.<\/p>

My quality of life has improved day by day since the surgery!<\/strong>\u00a0It is true that there have been emotionally difficult periods, but all the work done has improved my quality of life. The physical changes have only been positive \u2013 I finally understand what people mean when they say that physical exercise is relaxing and provides a sense of achievement.<\/p>

It is important to note that bariatric surgery is not a miracle cure that will melt away excess weight effortlessly. Achieving success requires a lot of work, both mentally and physically. However, if you have decided to change your life and feel that you need help with this, then choose a surgeon and go for a consultation, ask questions, share experiences with others in similar situations and communicate with your loved ones.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
